Corncrake by Lewis Hutton
These rare little birds were
once widespread throughout Britain.
Along with the Red Squirrel, these birds are the most commonly found
of all Victorian taxidermy specimens. This idicates how easily available
they must have been during that period. A change in farming methods
ensured their demise to just a few locations today.
