Corncrake by Lewis Hutton

These rare little birds were once widespread throughout Britain.
Along with the Red Squirrel, these birds are the most commonly found
of all Victorian taxidermy specimens. This idicates how easily available they must have been during that period. A change in farming methods ensured their demise to just a few locations today.
